Building a network and keeping it alive

As a sole K-12 librarian (no paras, no volunteers, no  students aides) I feel my unique position on the staff is sometimes a negative.  We don’t have the built-in network of “all the elementary (or MS or HS) teachers.”  LM-NET, blogs, Twitter all have their pluses and minuses.  Face to face groups are great, but fitting everyone’s schedules is often a nightmare.  DL labs? Skype? Tech abilities different but can be learned.  Any other ideas?
